For the dance ritual, my students would be in a semi-circle, 2 standing and the rest in their chairs.

For the greeting ritual, all students would be seated in a semi-circle.

We did an interesting variation of the Dance Ritual with a 12:1:1 class. All the students were seated at desks and I was was seated in a chair in the front of the room. They followed my lead (seated) and when it was time to “do your dance” I would call a student to take my place and we all would follow. Then that student would return to their seat and a new student was chosen. This was a lot of fun and worked really well, as it gave them all the chance to do the activity but also the support of their desks. This class had some  volatile personalities, that would often trigger each other, so this format helped to keep that in check.

Because I use EASE activities/lessons as part of our integration with general education, I often have about 30 students participating.  Standing in a big circle at the center of the classroom is what best works for my students.
